Our Energy, Our Power

The shift away from fossil fuels and towards renewables is well underway, so why aren’t Scotland’s people feeling the benefit?

Our Power calls on the Scottish government to build an energy system that prioritises workers, residents and the planet over corporations and investors. We were tasked with creating a campaign brand that spoke to unions, climate groups and communities, making the case for community ownership and a fair deal for oil & gas workers.

Power in Community

This campaign celebrates the power and potential of community, in a tactile and human way. We felt strongly that the campaign should speak directly to the communities it serves, bringing new energy and excitement to the fight for public ownership. This bright new brand is practical but hopeful, showing that a better future for Scotland’s energy is within our grasp.

Scotland's Energy

The logo is a hand-drawn lightning bolt that represents the electricity at the centre of the campaign, while referencing the geographical form of Scotland’s mainland and islands, firmly rooting the campaign in the country and its communities.

This hand-drawn energy is continued through the brand with a suite of icons that help the campaign talk about a range of issues – from jobs to wealth to housing – and bold ‘Power Lines’ used to emphasise words and themes.

Our Future, Our Power

The hand-created nature of the Our Power identity helps the campaign communicate on a personal and physical level, in an age in which energy-intensive, generative technology platforms are vying to replace people and craft.
